Project Description

2001 Kawasaki ZXI 1100

This jet ski hit an old dock support pylon that was just below the surface of the water. This caused a descent size hole in the bottom as well as the surrounding layers of fiberglass were damaged as well, it also sank. After hearing the story from the owner, I said we better check the engine first. So I pulled the spark plugs out and sure enough the cylinders were full of water, I hit the starter to spin the engine over and I think it shot water up 20 feet in the air!  First thing to do then was get the engine running before any repairs were done to the hull. Not too bad of a job with the 2 stroke engine, just blow out the water from the cylinders and clean the carbs and airbox and its good to go.
