Project Description

2004 Stratos 201Pro Clear Coat

Here I have pictures of a clear coat job that is prepped out and ready for clear, then the finished product. What I don’t have pictures of (Part of a 2 year period where I just didn’t take pictures of my work, don’t ask why, don’t know) are the way the boat came to me. It seems the owner paid to have it re-gel coated, well it looked like clear sandpaper. So, out comes the razor blade scrapper and my very helpful sidekick, my son. Removing that mess was very time consuming but it had to be done. After all the prep work I applied a new clear coat. Just to mention that, yes I do use automotive clear, the really expensive brand, not the cheap stuff. I’ll write about this process in a later article.
