Project Description

Penguin Exhibit

I got a call one day and the person said he had a penguin exhibit at the Georgia Aquarium that was in need of repair. Hmm, sounded interesting so I said send me some pictures so I can get an idea of what your describing and see it for myself. The project involved replacing the “Legs” on the bottom, which were made out of fiberglass I-beams. The legs had been damaged by a forklift and could not support the weight of the structure any more. After some time of figuring out what to do with this I came up with a simple solution to just cut the legs off and replace them with 6×6 timbers. After checking with the engineers, we all decided that it would work.
